Hereβs the box book I promised you in My Book Collection post π
This book I think was the most difficult of all to make from my entire imaginative book π π collection series, so far!
Painting πΌ on paper π or cardboard is not easy, as water π¦ gets absorbed quickly and surface texture begins to change. You have to wait for every coat of paint π¨ to dry before attempting to apply your next coat. I used acrylic paints.
Furthermore, the box π¦ I picked was one βπ½ in which a charger π was packed initially. So, the surface area was too smooth, though mat.
This, made the paint tend to peel off if handled too roughly! Therefore, constant touching up was necessary.
The colours I chose are that of the Malaysian flag π²πΎ in keeping with the title of the book – From Malaysia with Love ππ
Itβs a very meaningful title considering the political, economic and social milieu of the day!
The overall look π of this box book is that of an important document. Even one of secrecy! This is enhanced by the many Valentineβs Day stickers that adorn the book. I must say, this happened quite by accident!π€π.
The letters are cut out from painted board, in this case, in cerulean blue, of left over wrapping from socks π§¦. You have to be careful when cutting out the letters to optimum accuracy.
These are some of the hurdles I overcame while in the making of my box book βΊοΈ
Tackling all of its βperfect ππ½ imperfectionsβ, was quite an interesting feat for me.
It turned out to be a colourful addition to my book collection.
I do hope you like π this creation.
The title of the book is derived from the 007 James Bond espionage movie π₯ πΏ, From Russia π·πΊ with Love ππππ
So, itβs an interesting combination of thingsπ
Enjoy π the feeling!
