Speaking of which, my friend from Christchurch, New Zealand, had the kindness to share this beautiful link with me about one of his Country’s greats where the written word is concerned. She truly impressed me so as to preserve the link for the purpose of wishing you a merry Christmas 2022.

Dame Edith Ngaio Marsh, according to Wikipedia was a most illustrious figure and as Bruce Porter, (Bruce G Porter on Facebook), said, a โposhโ, user of the English language.
โIt’s the quite posh British accent which was prevalent back then amongst upper middle class New Zealanders of the timeโ
โWomen back in those days especially from colonial pioneer stock were no nonsense young ladiesโ
โAmerican women would have been similar in many waysโ
โAnd British women too for that matter, and it reflected in their speech, no time for small talkโฆโ
Here is the video in which she exemplifies this aspect of her prowess:
Take a tour of Ngaio Marsh’s house where she lived and worked from, searching for clues to write her mystery stories ๐
