We just got back from a super tiring but awesome adventure in South America. Athu and I covered Chile, Argentina and Uruguay.
The continent is amazing and I can’t wait for my next trip. I totally recommend Chile as a great place to visit. South America is not as touristy as Southeast Asia and the geographical location being quite remote makes it a difficult destination to get to. You won’t see the crowds of tourist that you see in Asia – that’s for sure.
I didn’t encounter any of the commonly perceived safety issues with South America the people were great and the whole place works well.
The people in Chile and Uruguay were great but I can’t say the same for Argentina. It could be that the economic hardship in Argentina has made all the people in Buenos Aires a bit unfriendly and not very open to tourists.
