Salman Rushdie, the greatest purveyor of free speech ever to live, possibly, was stabbed a few hours ago by an extremist most likely, named by sources as Hadi Matar, a 24-year-old man from Fairview, New Jersey, United States.
According to Andrew Wylie, his book agent, “The news is not good, Salman will likely lose one eye; the nerves in his arm were severed; and his liver was stabbed and damaged.”
This is shocking information to me for more than one reason. I have been a true fan of the writer. Apart from this. the reviewer of my own book, Encryption A Novella, stated it as being comparable to that of Rushdie’s Midnight’s Children:
“A needless warming, surely: if the 21st Century has forgotten James Joyce’s fertile fracturing of language, where as when a prism breaks light into vibrant colours the intentionally confusing word-play opens up a multiplicity of options of thought and sense, activating and vitalizing the mind, as Midnight’s Children reminded us. She employs a powerful, almost hypnotic rhythm that signals a new stance, a new genre: the double entendre of the double-barreled title alerts us that there is something to engage our faculties, not a familiar placebo which will cosily settle us down.”
Sadly, this atrocious crime has been perpetrated on a writer who upheld, to the very cost of his life itself, the greatness of having access to freedom of speech. If there was ever a writer who lived, who epitomized free speech, it is Salman Rushdie.
As Reuters goes on to say:
“Rushdie, 75, was being introduced to give a talk to an audience of hundreds on artistic freedom at western New York’s Chautauqua Institution when a man rushed to the stage and lunged at the novelist, who has lived with a bounty on his head since the late 1980s”.
The fact remains that not any of the first signals of a tragedy needing to be avoided and evaded is rightly taken by law enforcement, sadly. De-escalation is not a word in their vocabulary. That being the very word they must swear by. The threat to Rushdie’s life was imminent for several years since the publication of his book ‘The Satanic Verses’, in 1988. The book which was lauded by the vast majority of people of the free world, was banned in the entire Muslim world, with Iran pronouncing a fatwa on his head following its publication.
There is no denying that the socialist communist Democrat and RINO politicians and political parties in America and around the world are primarily to blame for such appalling actions that follow their disgusting practices that deny the People of the right to their unalienable First Amendment rights to free speech.
Are these politicians even aware of the chaos their actions and inactions wreak upon us and themselves alike ?! No. They are too emersed in their greed for power, fame and money.
It is bad enough that the Muslims should ban Rushdie and threaten his very life, but the so-called free world has now taken it upon themselves to rally around and laud over the very deniers of freedom of speech to all of us. When the Democrat Party of America goes ahead and actively support Muslims and elect people to the US Congress based on their religion alone, it is unacceptable and precipitous, leading to disaster. The cases in point being, Rashida Tlaib, (MI-D), Ihnan Omar, (MN-D), Keith Ellison aka “Keith X Ellison” “Keith E. Hakim,” “Keith Ellison-Muhammad, (MN-D).
Dr.Oz or Mehmet Oz, a Turkish American is now being touted by the Republicans and has won the Republican primaries in 2022, and is the Republican nominee for the U. S. Senate election for Pennsylvania.
These are some of the cases in point where the Democrats and RINOs have clearly gone astray and embraced anti-American and anti-Constitutional practices. Muslims sitting in the US Congress would’ve been an unheard of reality to the Founders. For, Islam is NOT a religion. Islam is a set of laws by which its adherents are governed. viz: Sharia Law !!! It is in direct opposition to every single Right as proposed in the Bill of Rights of which there are 10 original amendments, which has since expanded to 27 amendments.
The point being made here is that you can’t follow the U. S. Constitution and also remain a Muslim by faith. The two are diametrically opposed in nature. Hence, my mental sojourn today on having heard of the appalling stabbing of a dear and much loved writer and great upholder of freedom of speech, Salman Rushdie!

“Sir Salman Rushdie suffered “life changing” injuries when he was stabbed, but has been “able to say a few words” and retains his “usual feisty and defiant sense of humour”, his son has said.” – news.sky.com
