Staying at the Four Seasons Resort Langkawi reminded me of the song called Just Like Paradise by David Lee Roth written way back in 1988 after he had left the band Van Halen.
“This must be just like living in paradise and I don’t want to go home”.
It sure is paradise!!!
The whole trip was amazing from start to finish. To get to Langkawi we boarded the KTM business class coach from the old Kuala Lumpur railway station to Arau in the state of Perlis.
The service was great. All meals are provided during the trip. The seats are comfortable and every seat even has an attached tablet device. There’s also free wifi onboard. I’d have to say that the train ride is a better choice than taking a flight. The route is more scenic and the slower five hour journey was a lot less of a hassle than having to rush to the airport and check bags-in at flight counters. The best surprise we had on this train journey was finding out that a group of royal family members from the Royal House of Selangor travelled to Arau with us and were also headed to โฆ you guessed it โฆ Langkawi. ๐ฎ
From Arau we took a taxi to the ferry terminal at Kuala Perlis. The ferry ride took one hour to get to Kuah on the island of Langkawi.
Kuah treated us to magnificent sunsets, delicious Malay cuisine, curious temples and lovely morning, nature walks.
Langkawi was really exceeding all expectations up to this point. After a few days in Kuah we moved on to the much anticipated Four Seasons Resort. Everything about the resort was perfect. The gardens, restaurants, breakfast buffets, rooms, beaches, swimming pools and amazing staff were all the best in the business. The attention to detail and minimalist approach to entire resort added to the overall soothing experience at the Four Seasons.
The resort’s greatest asset are the wonderful staff. They are truly the nicest people on Earth and the entire team works exceptionally well to make every guest feel like they’ve landed in a heavenly place. To name a few of the stars at the resort: Bard, Albany, Samanda, Lydeana, Danial, Hazrul, Resident Naturalist Aidi, Chef Giuseppe, Director Michael Casey and General Manager Ivan Giles. They made every effort to anticipate our needs and we can’t wait to go back!!! The Four Seasons has done a great job with the resort in Langkawi. ๐
The food at the Serai and Ikan ikan was amazing. Check out the photos below. Just looking at the photos makes me wanna go back there now. ๐
During our picnic these lovely Hornbills paid us a visit. I managed to sketch one before the group of birds flew on to their next tree for their afternoon snack. ๐
