Happy St. Patrickβs Day βοΈπ

Harvest 2 handfuls of fresh shamrock. You find it growing as ground cover, by the wayside, (the highways and byways as they say), or in a corner of your garden in moist places. Foraging for shamrock might be the best way to harvest them. I found it growing in my garden and there have been times when I used to grow them in pots.
Ingredients
2 handfuls of shamrock (leaves and stems)
1/2 cup or 100ml of water
1.5 tbls granulated white sugar (As required)
To Make the Shamrock Juice:
1.Wash the shamrock well.
2.Add it to your blender along with 1/2 cup water and blend to a pulp.
3.Strain and set aside.
Ingredients To Make the Gin and Shamrock:
3 parts Gin (London dry)
2 parts shamrock juice (I was able to extract 2 parts and a little more of the juice)
2 ice cubes
Soda water (optional)
Method
1.Add shamrock juice and gin to your cocktail shaker and shake well.
2.Pour into a short glass over ice cubes.
3.If youβre adding soda, then top it up.
3.Garnish with a sprig of shamrock.
4.Serve.
The fresh shamrock gives the drink a mildly tangy and earthy flavour which pairs well with the botanicals of the gin.
I like itβs perfectly green colour which goes well with the theme. I wonder if it wouldβve retained its colour had I attempted a shamrock simple syrup π€
