Congress MUST Pass All Bi-Lateral Trade Deals Secured By President Trump

By Sharmini Jayawardena

The United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Mexico πŸ‡²πŸ‡½ Canada πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ Trade Agreement or the USMCA was signed by the respective leaders of the countries on 30th November 2018, as a side event of the G20 Summit held in Buenos Airs, Argentina. However, each country’s legislature still must ratify the agreement.

President Donald Trump has made clear from the day go, that he supports fair trade over free trade, which is one of the platforms on which he was elected to office by #WeThePeople.

Bi-lateral rather than multi-lateral trade deals are favoured by the Republican Conservatives who believe sovereignty of the Country will be met by the former, which supports fair trade over free trade.

This is all good for the United States which is now forging ahead with a new USA-China trade deal which is about to be concluded.

The geopolitical strategy employed by President Trump in this case is unmistakable! There is no other deal maker as strong and as aggressive as Trump😊.

Let us hope Congress does the right thing by the Country in the case of trade, and ratifies the trade deals, while they failed grossly in meeting expectations on other matters important to Make America Great Again, such as THE WALL‼️ #FINISHTHEWALL.

If Congress does not come together in this case as well, #WeThePeople will have no option but to find other means by which to make things happen.
